AMSOIL Signature Series 0W-40 100% Synthetic Motor Oil delivers maximum wear protection, exceptional cleanliness, and extended drain capability for high-performance engines that demand a robust 0W-40 viscosity. It is built for vehicles like the Nissan GT-R, Chrysler SRT platforms, and GM vehicles requiring dexos R, where a full-synthetic 0W-40 is specified to handle extreme operating conditions.

Modern high-output engines generate punishing heat, tight tolerances, and elevated stress on oil films. Turbocharged and direct-injection powerplants are especially hard on motor oil, accelerating oxidation, promoting deposit formation, and creating conditions that lead to turbo coking and low speed pre-ignition (LSPI). A conventional or poorly formulated 0W-40 simply cannot keep pace with these demands over a meaningful service interval.

Signature Series develops a strong fluid film that keeps metal surfaces separated under load, and its robust anti-wear additive package further reduces wear in metal-to-metal contact zones. In the Sequence IVA Engine Test (ASTM D6891), which simulates extended stop-and-go driving with 100 hours of cycling between idle and elevated rpm, AMSOIL Signature Series recorded an average cam wear measurement of just 20.28 µm compared to the 90 µm industry-standard limit. That is 75% more protection than required by the API SN specification. In a separate 100,000-mile head-to-head test conducted in an independent lab using Ford F-150 trucks with 3.5L twin-turbo EcoBoost engines, AMSOIL kept bearings looking like new while a leading synthetic-blend 5W-30 could not match its wear resistance.

PROTECTS TURBOCHARGERS FROM COKING
The extreme heat generated by turbochargers causes lesser oils to oxidize and form hard carbon deposits on bearing and shaft surfaces, a process known as turbo coking. Over time, this restricts oil flow and can cause turbo failure. In the GM Turbo Coking Test, which subjects the oil to 2,000 cycles of extreme heat soaks, Signature Series limited the temperature increase within the turbocharger to just 3.6%, compared to the 13% maximum allowed by the GM dexos1 Gen 2 specification. That translates to 72% better turbo protection than required. For Nissan GT-R owners and anyone running a turbocharged engine that calls for a synthetic 0W-40 motor oil, this level of thermal stability is critical to long turbo life.

28% MORE ACID-NEUTRALIZING POWER THAN MOBIL 1
Signature Series carries a Total Base Number (TBN) of 12.5 as measured by ASTM D2896. Independent testing of AMSOIL Signature Series 5W-30 against Mobil 1 Annual Protection Full Synthetic 5W-30 in ASTM D2896 showed Signature Series delivers 28% more acid-neutralizing power. A high TBN means the oil can neutralize combustion acids over a longer period, helping prevent corrosion, varnish, and the acidic breakdown that shortens both oil life and engine life. This is especially relevant in engines that see extended drain intervals or operate in hot climates where acid formation accelerates.

MAXIMUM CLEANING POWER AND 90% BETTER SLUDGE PROTECTION
Signature Series contains 50% more detergent additives than AMSOIL OE Motor Oil, helping keep oil passages clean and promoting proper oil circulation. In the Sequence VG Engine Test (ASTM D6593), which subjects a Ford 4.6L engine to 216 hours of sludge-inducing conditions, Signature Series produced an oil pick-up tube screen virtually free of sludge, delivering 90% better protection against sludge than required by the API SN specification. In the Sequence IIIH Engine Test (ASTM D8111), which runs at oil temperatures of 304°F to accelerate oil thickening and deposit formation, Signature Series showed only a 0.1% viscosity increase in a standard-length test. Even when the test was doubled to 180 hours using the same oil, viscosity increase remained at 49.6%, well under the 100% industry limit, and pistons were 40% cleaner than the standard requires.

100% PROTECTION AGAINST LSPI
Low speed pre-ignition is a destructive phenomenon in modern gasoline direct injection engines that can shatter piston ring lands in a single event. AMSOIL Signature Series achieved zero LSPI occurrences across five consecutive tests required by the GM dexos1 Gen 2 specification. For Chrysler SRT vehicles, the Nissan GT-R, and other high-performance platforms running GDI or turbocharged GDI engines, complete LSPI protection is non-negotiable.

SPECIFICATIONS AND COMPATIBILITY
AMSOIL Signature Series 0W-40 (AZF) meets the following specifications: API SP, SN PLUS, SN; Chrysler MS-A0921, MS-12633, MS-10725, MS-10850; Nissan GT-R; GM dexos R. It is compatible with other conventional and synthetic motor oils, though mixing will reduce the extended drain interval capability and performance benefits. Aftermarket oil additives are not recommended.

SERVICE LIFE
Normal Service: Up to 25,000 miles, 700 hours of operation, or one year, whichever comes first, in personal vehicles not operating under severe conditions. Severe Service: Up to 15,000 miles, 700 hours of operation, or one year. Severe service conditions include commercial or fleet vehicles, excessive idling, frequent towing, hauling, plowing, or driving in dusty conditions. Modified engines (non-stock), racing vehicles, and vehicles using alternative fuels (E85, CNG, propane) are excluded from extended drain interval recommendations. Do not exceed 12,000 miles or one year with non-AMSOIL oil filters unless longer intervals are recommended by the vehicle manufacturer. Always change the filter when changing oil.
