AMSOIL Signature Series 0W-16 100% Synthetic Motor Oil delivers premium engine protection and extended drain intervals for late-model vehicles that specify 0W-16 viscosity. Built on the same advanced additive chemistry and synthetic base stocks that define the entire Signature Series line, this oil is engineered to exceed the demands of modern, fuel-efficient engines.

Today's compact and midsize vehicles from Toyota, Honda, and other manufacturers increasingly call for ultra-low-viscosity 0W-16 motor oil. These engines are designed with tighter tolerances to maximize fuel economy, but that precision creates real challenges. Thinner oil films must still protect critical components under high heat and varying loads. Stop-and-go commuting, short trips that never fully warm the engine, and extended OEM drain intervals all place additional stress on a motor oil that already has less viscosity to work with.

The Sequence IVA Engine Test simulates 100 hours of punishing stop-and-go driving, cycling between extended idling and elevated RPM to accelerate cam wear. The camshaft is then measured in 84 locations and scored. AMSOIL used Signature Series 0W-20, the lightest viscosity in the line at the time, to further increase test severity. The result was an average cam wear score of just 20.28 microns compared to the 90-micron industry-standard limit in ASTM D6891, providing 75% more protection than required by the API SN specification. Signature Series develops a strong fluid film that keeps metal surfaces separated, while robust anti-wear additives reduce wear in metal-to-metal contact regions. For Toyota Corolla, Toyota Camry, Honda Civic, and other vehicles requiring a synthetic 0W-16 motor oil, that level of wear protection translates directly to longer engine life.

GUARDS TURBOCHARGERS AGAINST COKING
Turbochargers spin at extreme speeds and generate tremendous heat, especially during shutdown when oil flow stops but residual heat remains. That heat can cause lesser oils to oxidize and form hard carbon deposits on bearing surfaces, a process known as turbo coking. Over time, these deposits restrict oil flow and degrade turbo performance. In the GM Turbo Coking Test, which subjects the oil to 2,000 extreme heat-soak cycles, Signature Series limited the temperature increase to just 3.6%, well under the 13% maximum allowed. That means it protects turbochargers 72% better than required by the GM dexos1 Gen 2 specification. For turbocharged vehicles like the Toyota Corolla Cross Hybrid or any GDI-equipped engine running 0W-16, this resistance to thermal breakdown at the turbo bearing is critical.

28% MORE ACID-NEUTRALIZING POWER THAN MOBIL 1
Combustion byproducts generate acids that attack metal surfaces and degrade oil over time. The Total Base Number (TBN) of a motor oil measures its ability to neutralize those acids. Signature Series 0W-16 carries a TBN of 12.5 (ASTM D2896), delivering 28% more acid-neutralizing power than Mobil 1 Annual Protection Full Synthetic in independent testing. That reserve alkalinity is what allows Signature Series to maintain protection over longer drain intervals rather than becoming acidic and corrosive before your next oil change.

MAXIMUM CLEANING POWER TO FIGHT SLUDGE AND DEPOSITS
Signature Series contains 50% more detergent additives than AMSOIL OE Motor Oil. In the Sequence VG Engine Test, which subjects a Ford 4.6L engine to 216 hours of sludge-inducing conditions, Signature Series produced an oil pick-up tube screen virtually free of sludge, providing 90% better protection against sludge than required by the API SN specification in ASTM D6593 testing. A plugged pick-up screen starves the engine of oil. Signature Series also resists thermal breakdown and keeps pistons clean. In the Sequence IIIH Engine Test (ASTM D8111), conducted at oil temperatures of 304°F, Signature Series showed only a 0.1% viscosity increase after the standard test length. Even when the test was doubled to 180 hours using the same oil, it delivered 40% cleaner pistons than the standard requires and limited viscosity increase to 49.6%, well under the 100% allowable threshold.

100% PROTECTION AGAINST LSPI
Low speed pre-ignition is a destructive phenomenon in modern gasoline direct injection engines. It can shatter piston ring lands and cause catastrophic engine damage. AMSOIL Signature Series achieved zero LSPI events across five consecutive tests in the engine test required by the GM dexos1 Gen 2 specification. For vehicles with GDI engines running 0W-16, including many current Toyota and Lexus models, this complete LSPI protection addresses one of the most serious risks facing modern powertrains.

SPECIFICATIONS AND COMPATIBILITY
AMSOIL Signature Series 0W-16 (AZS) meets API SP (Resource Conserving), API SN Plus, API SN, and ILSAC GF-6B. It is suitable for all gasoline-powered vehicles that require a 0W-16 viscosity motor oil meeting these specifications, including late-model Toyota Camry, Toyota Corolla, Toyota RAV4, Lexus UX, Honda Fit, and other vehicles specifying SAE 0W-16.

Signature Series is compatible with other conventional and synthetic motor oils, though mixing will reduce the oil's life expectancy and performance benefits. Aftermarket oil additives are not recommended.

SERVICE LIFE
Normal service: up to 25,000 miles, 700 hours of operation, or one year, whichever comes first. Severe service (commercial or fleet vehicles, excessive idling, frequent towing, hauling, plowing, or dusty conditions): up to 15,000 miles, 700 hours of operation, or one year. Do not exceed 12,000 miles or one year with non-AMSOIL oil filters unless longer intervals are recommended by the vehicle manufacturer. Modified engines, racing vehicles, and vehicles using alternative fuels (E85, CNG, propane) are excluded from extended drain interval recommendations. Outside the U.S. and Canada, change at the vehicle manufacturer's recommended drain interval.
