AMSOIL OE 0W-40 100% Synthetic Motor Oil delivers full-synthetic engine protection for vehicles that demand a wide-viscosity-range oil, covering turbocharged and direct-injected engines found in European and domestic performance platforms. It is built to go the full OEM-recommended drain interval without compromise.

Modern engines running 0W-40 oil tend to be high-output designs with tight tolerances, turbochargers, and gasoline direct injection. These technologies generate extreme heat, elevated combustion pressures, and conditions that can trigger low-speed pre-ignition events capable of destroying pistons. A conventional or lower-quality synthetic simply cannot keep pace with these demands over a full OEM drain interval.

ADVANCED WEAR PROTECTION FOR CRITICAL ENGINE COMPONENTS
Smaller displacement turbocharged engines, like those found in the Dodge Charger 3.6L, Jeep Wrangler 2.0L turbo, and various Chrysler and Fiat applications calling for 0W-40, place intense loads on camshafts and valve train components. Camshaft wear leads to poor valve timing, reduced efficiency, and expensive repairs. In the Peugeot TU3M Wear Test (CEC L-38-A-94), which subjects a four-cylinder engine to 100 hours of extreme, wear-inducing conditions, AMSOIL OE Motor Oil provided 47% more wear protection than required by the GM dexos1 Gen 2 specification. That margin means critical parts like cams and pistons stay protected well beyond the minimum threshold.

100% PROTECTION AGAINST LOW-SPEED PRE-IGNITION
LSPI is the spontaneous ignition of the fuel-air mixture before spark-triggered combustion. It is most common in turbocharged GDI engines running at low RPM and high load, exactly the conditions you hit merging onto a highway or pulling away from a stoplight. A single LSPI event can crack a piston or bend a connecting rod. AMSOIL OE Synthetic Motor Oil uses a chemistry specifically formulated to prevent LSPI. In the engine test required by the GM dexos1 Gen 2 specification, it achieved zero LSPI events across five consecutive tests.

FIGHTS HEAT AND KEEPS ENGINES CLEAN
A 0W-40 synthetic motor oil needs to hold up under sustained high temperatures without thickening, breaking down, or leaving deposits behind. Its detergent and dispersant additive package actively suspends and removes contaminants, keeping oil passages clear and turbocharger bearings clean. At the other extreme, it maintains a robust film strength at operating temperature, with a kinematic viscosity of 15.3 cSt at 100°C and a viscosity index of 185. FUEL ECONOMY AND EMISSIONS SYSTEM COMPATIBILITY
AMSOIL OE 0W-40 is licensed by the American Petroleum Institute (API) and is formulated to be compatible with modern emissions-control hardware, promoting proper catalytic converter operation and supporting low exhaust emissions. It carries the API SP and SN PLUS designations.

Specifications and Compatibility
AMSOIL OE 0W-40 meets API SP and SN PLUS specifications. It is compatible with other synthetic and conventional motor oils, though mixing will reduce the performance benefits and AMSOIL does not support extended drain intervals when oils have been mixed. Aftermarket oil additives are not recommended for use with this product. This is a direct replacement for OEM-branded 0W-40 oils in applications from Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Fiat, Alfa Romeo, and other manufacturers specifying a 0W-40 viscosity grade.

Service Life
In gasoline-fueled vehicles, AMSOIL OE 0W-40 Synthetic Motor Oil is recommended for the oil change intervals stated by the vehicle manufacturer or as indicated by the vehicle's oil life monitoring system. Change the oil filter at every oil change.
