Foam formation compounds the problem by introducing compressibility into the fluid, reducing system efficiency and potentially causing cavitation damage to pumps.

STRONG WEAR PROTECTION FOR PUMPS AND MOTORS
AMSOIL Commercial-Grade Hydraulic Oil is formulated with quality base oils and anti-wear additives that protect critical hydraulic components. In ASTM D4172 Four-Ball Wear testing at 75°C, 1200 rpm, and 40 kg load, the ISO 32 grade produced a wear scar of just 0.55 mm. It also achieved an FZG A/8.3/90 load stage fail rating of 12, indicating strong gear and component protection under high-load conditions. This translates directly to longer pump and motor life and reduced maintenance downtime for gear, vane, and piston hydraulic systems.

FIGHTS SLUDGE AND MAINTAINS SYSTEM CLEANLINESS
Oxidation is what turns clean hydraulic oil into sludge over time. Varnish and deposits accumulate on valve spools, solenoid screens, and tight-tolerance pump components, restricting flow and causing erratic operation. AMSOIL Commercial-Grade Hydraulic Oil resists oxidation to help keep pumps, valves, solenoids, and other components clean and operating within design tolerances. Good filterability further supports fluid cleanliness and extends usable fluid life.

RESISTS FOAM TO PREVENT CAVITATION
Foam in hydraulic fluid introduces air into the system, making actuators spongy and reducing the fluid's ability to transmit force efficiently. Worse, it can cause cavitation that physically damages pump internals. AMSOIL Commercial-Grade Hydraulic Oil recorded 0/0 ml across all three ASTM D892 foam test sequences (Seq. I, II, and III), meaning it produced zero foam and zero residual foam under each test condition. That level of foam suppression keeps systems responsive and protects pumps from cavitation-related wear.

CORROSION RESISTANCE FOR LONG COMPONENT LIFE
Moisture inevitably enters hydraulic systems through condensation, seal leaks, and reservoir breathers. If the oil cannot neutralize that moisture's corrosive effects, internal surfaces corrode and generate abrasive particles that accelerate wear throughout the system. AMSOIL Commercial-Grade Hydraulic Oil scored a 1A rating in the ASTM D130 Copper Strip Corrosion test at 100°C, the best possible result. It also demonstrates strong demulsibility, separating from water in 15 minutes in ASTM D1401 testing (40-40-0), so water can be drained or filtered out before it causes damage.
