AMSOIL X-Treme Synthetic Food-Grade Grease is an ultra-premium aluminum complex grease built for food-processing, pharmaceutical, and packaging equipment where incidental food contact is a possibility. It delivers wide-temperature performance, strong water washout resistance, and serious extreme-pressure protection in a single NSF H-1 registered formula.

Equipment in food and pharmaceutical facilities operates under conditions that would challenge any conventional grease. Constant washdowns with hot water and sanitizing solutions strip lubricant from bearings and chassis points. Temperature swings from freezer environments to oven-adjacent conveyor lines demand a grease that stays stable at both extremes. And any lubricant used near consumable products must meet strict regulatory standards for incidental contact, limiting the additive chemistry available to formulators.

NSF H-1 REGISTERED AND FDA 21 CFR 178.3570 COMPLIANT
This grease is registered H-1 by NSF (Registration No. 172163) and formulated with non-toxic additives to meet the requirements of FDA 21 CFR 178.3570. It is specifically designed for use in and around food-processing areas where incidental contact with food or pharmaceuticals may occur. That registration means it can be used in preparation, processing, and packaging machinery without introducing contamination risk to the product stream.

REMAINS STABLE ACROSS EXTREME TEMPERATURE RANGES
X-Treme Synthetic Food-Grade Grease maintains its structure and lubricating properties across an operating range of -49°F to 392°F, with intermittent capability up to 482°F. The dropping point reaches 525°F (ASTM D 2265), providing a wide margin of safety in high-heat applications like oven conveyors and bakery equipment. At the other end, low-temperature torque measured just 2.7 N·m at -40°F (ASTM D 4693), so it performs reliably in freezer and cold-storage environments where conventional food-grade greases stiffen and starve bearings.

EXTREME-PRESSURE PROTECTION FOR MAXIMUM EQUIPMENT LIFE
The aluminum complex formulation delivers a four-ball EP weld point of 315 kgf (ASTM D 2596) with a load wear index of 44. The Timken OK load rating is 40 lbs. (ASTM D 2509), and four-ball wear scar diameter measures just 0.5 mm (ASTM D 2266). These numbers reflect genuine load-carrying ability that reduces friction, limits heat generation, and prevents metal-to-metal contact in heavily loaded bearings and linkages found on bottling lines, mixers, conveyors, and packaging machinery.

RESISTS WATER WASHOUT IN SANITARY ENVIRONMENTS
Food and pharmaceutical plants rely on frequent washdowns to maintain sanitary conditions, and that water exposure is brutal on grease. X-Treme Synthetic Food-Grade Grease loses only 5.4% in ASTM D 1264 water washout testing. It stays in place where it needs to be, which directly reduces regreasing frequency and the maintenance hours that go with it. It also passes ASTM D 1743 rust and corrosion testing, protecting equipment from the damaging effects of repeated water exposure.

SPECIFICATIONS AND COMPATIBILITY
AMSOIL X-Treme Synthetic Food-Grade Grease is an NLGI #2 aluminum complex grease. It is compatible with lithium complex, calcium 12 hydroxy, and other aluminum complex greases. It is not compatible with barium, bentonite clay, calcium, calcium complex, lithium, lithium 12 hydroxy, polyurea, or sodium greases. When switching from an incompatible grease type, complete purging of the bearing or housing is required before applying X-Treme Synthetic Food-Grade Grease.

APPLICATION AND MAINTENANCE
Maintain bearing housings one-third to one-half full of grease. Over-greasing can cause excessive heat buildup. Wipe grease fittings clean before injecting grease to prevent contaminant ingestion. Supplement standard greasing intervals by periodically cleaning and repacking housings with fresh grease on an established maintenance schedule.
