AMSOIL NLGI #1 Synthetic Polymeric Off-Road Grease delivers extreme-pressure protection and extended greasing intervals for heavy equipment operating in the harshest off-road environments. Built around a proprietary synthetic polymeric system and calcium-sulfonate complex thickener, it stays put where other greases get squeezed out.

Heavy-duty off-road equipment puts enormous stress on greased pivot points, pins, and bushings. Every impact from a bucket strike, ground engagement, or load cycle concentrates massive pressure onto a small contact area. When conventional grease gets forced out of that zone, you get metal-to-metal contact, accelerated wear, and expensive downtime. Water exposure, mud, and debris compound the problem by washing grease away and contaminating what remains.

RESISTS IMPACT AND STAYS IN PLACE UNDER EXTREME LOADS
The exclusive synthetic polymeric technology in this grease provides exceptional adhesion to metal surfaces and cohesion within the grease itself. During repetitive pounding action, it significantly reduces the amount of grease ejected from the contact area. Where lesser greases get squeezed out and leave components unprotected, AMSOIL Off-Road Grease clings to surfaces and maintains a protective film. The Timken OK Load test result of 65+ lbs. (ASTM D-2509) and a four-ball weld point exceeding 620 kgf (ASTM D-2596) confirm its ability to carry heavy loads without film failure.

HEAVILY FORTIFIED WITH MOLY FOR PIN AND BUSHING PROTECTION
This grease is loaded with molybdenum disulfide to meet Caterpillar's recommendation of 5 percent moly content for pin and bushing applications. Moly provides a solid-film lubricant layer that protects surfaces even under boundary lubrication conditions, when fluid film alone isn't enough. Four-ball wear test results show a wear scar under 0.45 mm (ASTM D-2266), confirming low wear rates even under sustained contact pressure. For excavators, dozers, loaders, and other Caterpillar equipment requiring moly-fortified grease in pivot pins, king pins, and bucket pins, this is a direct fit.

EXCELLENT WATER WASHOUT RESISTANCE
Equipment working in rain, standing water, or muddy conditions needs grease that won't wash away. AMSOIL Off-Road Grease posts a water washout rate of just 1 percent in ASTM D-1264 testing. That level of water resistance helps maintain a seal on greased components, keeping water and contaminants out of wear-prone areas on excavator shovels, drag lines, skid steers, and other equipment regularly exposed to wet environments.

CALCIUM-SULFONATE COMPLEX THICKENER FOR INHERENT EP PERFORMANCE
The calcium-sulfonate complex thickener isn't just a carrier for the base oil. It contributes its own extreme-pressure characteristics to the grease, adding a layer of load-carrying capability that supplements the moly and synthetic polymeric additives. This thickener also provides a dropping point of 321°C (610°F) per ASTM D-2265, giving the grease thermal stability well beyond what most off-road applications demand.

EXTENDED GREASING INTERVALS AND REDUCED CONSUMPTION
Because AMSOIL Off-Road Grease resists ejection under impact and clings tenaciously to components, field testing shows it can reduce overall grease consumption. Operators can either maintain their current greasing schedule and use less grease per application, or extend the interval between re-greasing. Either way, the result is lower lubricant costs, less labor, and fewer opportunities for missed intervals to cause damage.

SPECIFICATIONS AND COMPATIBILITY
AMSOIL NLGI #1 Synthetic Polymeric Off-Road Grease passes ASTM D-1743 corrosion testing and is suitable for heavy-load-bearing applications in agricultural, construction, landscaping, logging, and mining environments. Target applications include power shovels, drag lines, wheel and track loaders, fifth-wheel plates, excavators, bulldozers, skid steers, dump trucks, feller bunchers, harvesters, combines, balers, scrapers, graders, and forklifts. It is compatible with many other grease types, though cleaning old grease from the system or flushing with a liberal amount of AMSOIL Off-Road Grease during operation is recommended when switching products.

PUMPABILITY NOTE
The NLGI #1 grade pumps best in temperatures above 0°F, making it the better choice for cold-weather operations compared to the NLGI #2 variant. This grease is not recommended for automatic or centralized lubrication systems unless the system is specifically designed to handle tackier greases. A heavy follower plate may be necessary when pumping from 35 lb. pails or 120 lb. kegs.
