AMSOIL NLGI #2 Synthetic Polymeric Truck, Chassis and Equipment Grease delivers heavy-duty extreme-pressure protection and extended service life for wheel bearings, U-joints, fifth-wheel plates, kingpins, and other heavily loaded grease points on commercial trucks, trailers, and equipment. Built around calcium-sulfonate complex thickener technology and proprietary polymeric chemistry, it stays where you put it and keeps working long after conventional greases have washed out or squeezed away.

Over-the-road trucks, dump trucks, refuse haulers, and heavy equipment put enormous stress on greasable chassis components. Constant shock loading, vibration, and exposure to water, road salt, and deicing chemicals break down conventional greases quickly. The combination of synthetic base oils with a 220 cSt base oil viscosity at 40°C and an advanced additive package provides a thick, durable lubricating barrier between metal surfaces in the most demanding grease points on Class 6, 7, and 8 trucks.

Fleet operators and owner-operators need grease that holds position between scheduled maintenance, especially when the road demands extra miles before a truck can get back to the shop. The proprietary polymeric chemistry in this grease gives it exceptional adhesion and cohesion properties. It clings to metal surfaces rather than migrating or squeezing out of joints under repeated shock loading. That tenacity is what separates it from conventional lithium-complex greases that thin out or work their way free of the bearing cavity over time. A dropping point of 260°C (500°F) per ASTM D2265 means it also resists thermal breakdown in high-heat applications like wheel bearings and water-pump bearings.

SUPERIOR WATER WASHOUT AND CORROSION RESISTANCE
Trucks running through rain, snow, slush, and road spray need a grease that resists water intrusion. AMSOIL Synthetic Polymeric Grease NLGI #2 scores just 3% water washout in ASTM D1264 testing. The calcium-sulfonate complex thickener is inherently resistant to water contamination, and the formulation passes the ASTM D1743 corrosion test. For snow-removal vehicles, refuse haulers, sewer trucks, and any equipment exposed to road salt and deicing chemicals, this translates to real protection against rust and corrosion on steering linkages, spring pins, ball joints, and chassis grease points.

For mixed fleets running different equipment types, one grease that handles all of these applications simplifies inventory and reduces the risk of using the wrong product in the wrong place.

COMPATIBILITY AND APPLICATION NOTES
AMSOIL Synthetic Polymeric Truck, Chassis and Equipment Grease is compatible with many other grease types, but when switching from a different product, it is best to clean the old grease from the application or flush with a liberal amount of AMSOIL Synthetic Polymeric Grease while the mechanism is in operation. The NLGI #2 grade pumps best in temperatures above 40°F. For colder operating environments, the NLGI #1 variant (GPTR1) pumps best above 0°F. This grease is not recommended for automatic or centralized lubrication systems on heavy equipment unless the system is specifically designed to pump a tackier grease. A heavy follower plate may be necessary when dispensing from larger package sizes such as 35-lb. lugs, 120-lb. kegs, or 400-lb. drums.

Bearing housings should be maintained one-third to one-half full of grease. Wipe fittings clean before injecting grease to prevent contaminant ingestion, and periodically clean and repack housings with fresh grease on an established maintenance schedule.
