AMSOIL NLGI #1 Synthetic Polymeric Truck, Chassis and Equipment Grease delivers extended-interval extreme-pressure protection for heavily loaded components on medium- and heavy-duty trucks and commercial equipment. Built on synthetic base oils, proprietary polymeric chemistry, and a calcium-sulfonate complex thickener, it stays put where conventional greases squeeze out.

Greasable chassis components on Class 8 trucks, dump trucks, refuse haulers, and heavy equipment operate under punishing loads, constant vibration, and exposure to water, road salt, and dirt. Missed grease intervals are common when trucks need to stay on the road, and a grease that washes out or breaks down between services leaves kingpins, U-joints, fifth-wheel plates, and wheel bearings vulnerable to accelerated wear and corrosion. The NLGI #1 grade pumps reliably in temperatures down to 0°F, making it a practical choice for cold-weather operations and mixed fleets that service equipment year-round.

EXTREME-PRESSURE AND IMPACT RESISTANCE
Fifth-wheel plates, pivot pins, kingpins, and ball joints absorb repeated shock loads that can displace conventional grease from contact surfaces. AMSOIL Synthetic Polymeric Grease posts a Timken OK Load of 65 lbs (ASTM D2509) and a Four-Ball Weld Point of 620 kgf (ASTM D2596), confirming its ability to maintain a protective film under severe mechanical pressure. Its proprietary polymeric chemistry gives the grease strong adhesion and cohesion properties, so it clings to metal surfaces instead of being hammered out of the application.

STAYS IN PLACE OVER EXTENDED SERVICE INTERVALS
The calcium-sulfonate complex thickener resists mechanical breakdown, and the polymeric formulation helps the grease remain intact long after application. This matters for over-the-road trucking operations where maintenance windows are tight and re-greasing gets delayed. Bearing housings, axle assemblies, and steering linkages stay protected even when the job demands extra miles between service stops. The same tenacity that keeps this grease in place also means it requires a bit more effort to pump. A heavy follower plate may be necessary when dispensing from larger package sizes.

SEALS OUT WATER, DIRT, AND ROAD CONTAMINANTS
Water washout measured just 7% in ASTM D1264 testing, meaning this grease resists being displaced by rain, snow, and road spray. Trucks running through winter slush, deicing chemicals, and mud need a grease that forms a physical barrier against contamination at every grease point. The formulation also passes the ASTM D1743 corrosion test, providing documented rust and corrosion protection for components exposed to harsh environmental conditions.

SUPERIOR CORROSION PROTECTION FOR MIXED FLEETS
Snow-removal vehicles, sewer and septic trucks, cement mixers, airport support vehicles, and municipal service fleets all encounter corrosive operating environments. COLD-WEATHER PUMPABILITY
The NLGI #1 grade has a worked penetration of 310-340 (ASTM D217) and a base oil viscosity of 68 cSt at 40°C (ASTM D445), giving it a softer consistency than the NLGI #2 variant. It pumps reliably in temperatures above 0°F, making it a better choice for fleets operating in northern climates or servicing equipment outdoors during winter months. For warmer environments, AMSOIL also offers the NLGI #2 version (GPTR2), which pumps best above 40°F.

SPECIFICATIONS AND COMPATIBILITY
AMSOIL Synthetic Polymeric Truck, Chassis and Equipment Grease uses a calcium-sulfonate complex thickener and is compatible with many other grease types. When switching from a different grease, clean the equipment of old grease or flush with a liberal amount of AMSOIL Synthetic Polymeric Grease while the mechanism is in operation. Monitor the system for any inconsistencies after the change. This grease is not recommended for automatic or centralized lubrication systems on heavy equipment unless the system is designed to pump a tackier grease. APPLICATION AND MAINTENANCE
Ideal for wheel bearings, axle assemblies, universal joints, pivot pins, fifth-wheel hitch plates, steering linkages, spring pins, kingpins, ball joints, water-pump bearings, and other greaseable chassis components. Clean grease fittings before injecting grease to prevent contaminant ingestion. Maintain bearing housings one-third to one-half full. Do not over-grease, as excessive heat buildup can result. Periodically clean and repack housings with fresh grease on an established maintenance schedule.
