AMSOIL Synthetic Multi-Purpose Grease is a calcium sulfonate complex grease built on synthetic base oils that delivers reliable protection across a wide operating range, from wheel bearings on a livestock trailer to universal joints on a zero-turn mower. It consolidates multiple grease applications into one product without compromising performance in any of them.

Equipment that lives outdoors, works in temperature swings, or sits idle between seasons takes a beating at the grease points. Water intrusion washes conventional greases out of bearings. Cold mornings thicken inferior greases to the point where they resist pumping through centralized systems. High ambient heat and heavy loads break down the thickener structure, leaving metal-on-metal contact right where you need a protective film the most. STAYS IN PLACE UNDER WATER EXPOSURE
Water washout is one of the fastest ways to lose grease protection in exposed applications like trailer wheel bearings, agricultural equipment, and chassis components that see road spray or pressure washing. AMSOIL Synthetic Multi-Purpose Grease posted just 1.5% loss in ASTM D1264 water washout testing. The calcium sulfonate complex thickener has inherent water resistance that lithium-based greases simply cannot match, which means the grease stays where you packed it instead of washing out and leaving bearings unprotected.

HANDLES TEMPERATURE EXTREMES FROM -40°F TO 350°F
The operational window on this grease runs from -40°F to 350°F. At the cold end, it recorded a low-temperature torque value of 8.6 N·m at -40°C in ASTM D4693 testing, so it pumps through grease guns and centralized lubrication systems even in harsh winter conditions. At the other extreme, the dropping point exceeds 600°F (ASTM D2265), and high-temperature life testing per ASTM D3527 returned 120 hours. Whether you are greasing a skid steer in a Minnesota January or packing wheel bearings on a trailer running through the desert Southwest, the grease maintains its structure and film strength.

HEAVY LOAD AND EXTREME-PRESSURE PROTECTION
For applications involving shock loads, heavy radial forces, or sliding contact, the oil-soluble EP additive package delivers a 620 kgf weld point in Four-Ball EP testing (ASTM D2596) and a 65-lb Timken OK Load result (ASTM D2509). Four-Ball Wear testing (ASTM D2266) produced a 0.40 mm scar diameter, confirming strong anti-wear performance under boundary lubrication conditions. This covers demanding grease points like fifth-wheel plates, backhoe pins and bushings, press bearings, and heavily loaded roller bearings in industrial equipment.

SHEAR-STABLE AND ADHESIVE FORMULATION
Greases that lose consistency under mechanical working create problems. They thin out, squeeze past seals, and leave components starved for lubrication. AMSOIL Synthetic Multi-Purpose Grease is engineered for shear stability and tackiness, so it clings to moving surfaces rather than being flung off or pushed out of bearing races. The worked penetration value of 280 (ASTM D217, 60 strokes) places it squarely in NLGI #2 consistency, the standard grade for most automotive and industrial grease gun applications. Oil separation is also minimal at 0.49% (ASTM D1742), which means the oil stays bound in the thickener matrix during storage and in service.

RESISTS CORROSION AND OXIDATION
The synthetic base oils and calcium sulfonate complex thickener provide natural corrosion resistance, and the grease passes ASTM D1743 rust and corrosion testing. Oxidation inhibitors extend service life by resisting the chemical breakdown that causes grease to harden, acidify, and lose its lubricating properties over time. Equipment that sits between uses, like seasonal trailers, boat trailer bearings, or agricultural implements parked through winter, benefits from this long-term stability.

SPECIFICATIONS AND COMPATIBILITY
AMSOIL Synthetic Multi-Purpose Grease meets the NLGI GC-LB performance classification, qualifying it for automotive wheel bearing (GC) and chassis (LB) applications. It also meets the NLGI HPM core specification for high-performance multiuse grease. It is compatible with many other grease types, but when switching from a different grease, clean old grease from the housing when possible or flush thoroughly with AMSOIL Synthetic Multi-Purpose Grease while the component is in operation.
