AMSOIL Super Shift Racing Transmission Fluid is a synthetic ATF built specifically for high-horsepower, high-torque racing transmissions where conventional fluids fall apart under stress. It delivers firm, positive shifts, reduced operating temperatures, and serious wear protection for drag cars, monster trucks, stock cars, off-road 4x4 vehicles, and street hot rods.

Racing transmissions operate in a brutal environment. Sustained high RPM, massive torque loads, and extreme heat push fluid well beyond what typical ATFs are designed to handle. When fluid breaks down under those conditions, you get clutch slippage, sludge buildup, viscosity loss, and eventually a rebuild. The transmission in a turbo LS-powered drag car or a monster truck doesn't need a smooth-shifting passenger car fluid. Clutch slippage robs power and generates heat. Super Shift is formulated with friction characteristics that provide high holding capacity for maximum torque transfer and brake power. This is not a fluid designed for smooth, barely perceptible shifts in a daily driver. It is designed to lock up hard and transfer every bit of power to the wheels.

REDUCES EXTREME OPERATING TEMPERATURES
Heat is the single biggest threat to a racing transmission. Super Shift functions as a heat transfer fluid, pulling heat away from critical components more efficiently. By controlling clutch slippage, it also reduces the heat generated during shifts in the first place. The fluid posts a flash point of 246°C (475°F) and a fire point of 262°C (504°F), giving it significant thermal headroom under sustained hard use. A pour point of -48°C (-54°F) means it flows readily at startup, even in cold shop conditions or early-morning staging lanes, providing immediate protection before the transmission reaches operating temperature.

RESISTS BREAKDOWN AND KEEPS TRANSMISSIONS CLEAN
Fluids that can't handle intense heat and shearing forces generate varnish, deposits, and sludge that coat valve bodies and clutch plates. Super Shift's synthetic base oils and thermal stability resist oxidation and breakdown, keeping the transmission clean internally. NOACK volatility testing (ASTM D5800) shows only 6.6% weight loss, indicating the fluid resists evaporation and stays in grade even under sustained high temperatures. Shear-stable base oils help prevent viscosity loss throughout the fluid's service life, so protection doesn't degrade between changes.

PROTECTS HARD PARTS AND CLUTCH MATERIALS
Rebuilds are expensive and cost seat time. Super Shift's robust additive system protects clutches, bearings, and bushings even under sustained periods of applied pressure and high torque loads. In Four-Ball Wear testing (ASTM D4172B), it produced a wear scar of just 0.35 mm, demonstrating strong anti-wear film strength. That protection translates directly to longer component life and fewer teardowns.

INHIBITS CORROSION AND CONTROLS FOAM
Race cars often sit between events for weeks or months. Super Shift protects internal transmission components from corrosion during prolonged storage. It also controls foaming, which matters because aerated fluid reduces hydraulic pressure and leads to inconsistent clutch engagement and accelerated wear.

SPECIFICATIONS AND COMPATIBILITY
Super Shift is recommended for use in automatic transmissions that require Allison C-4 or Ford Type F fluid. It is compatible with other transmission fluids, though mixing should be minimized for best performance. This fluid is not a replacement for Ford MERCON, GM DEXRON, or Chrysler ATF+ type fluids in standard passenger vehicle and truck transmissions.
