AMSOIL DUAL-GARD® BYPASS SYSTEM

The AMSOIL DUAL-GARD Bypass System adds a second layer of oil filtration to your engine, capturing the ultra-fine contaminants that standard full-flow filters simply cannot touch. It is designed for diesel trucks, heavy equipment, fleet vehicles, and any application where extended drain intervals and long engine life are the priority.

Full-flow oil filters do a necessary job, but they have a limitation built into their design. They must allow oil to pass through quickly enough to keep up with engine demand, which means particles below a certain size pass right through. Over time, those sub-micron contaminants circulate continuously, accelerating wear on bearings, rings, and other critical surfaces. Diesel engines running high soot loads, like the Ford 6.7L Power Stroke or Duramax platforms, are especially vulnerable.

REMOVES WEAR-CAUSING PARTICLES FULL-FLOW FILTERS MISS
The DUAL-GARD system works alongside your engine's existing full-flow filter by drawing approximately 10 percent of oil pump capacity at any given time and routing it through an AMSOIL Ea Bypass Filter (EaBP). This partial-flow design targets the extremely small, wear-causing contaminants that full-flow filters are not designed to catch, including soot. Because the system cycles all of the oil in the engine several times per hour, the engine continuously operates on analytically clean oil. The result is measurably less abrasive wear on internal components.

EXTENDS OIL AND FILTER SERVICE LIFE
Cleaner oil lasts longer. By continuously removing fine particulate and soot, the bypass system slows the rate of oil degradation, which directly supports extended drain intervals. Depending on the filter element selected, service intervals for the Ea Bypass Filters range from 60,000 miles (EaBP90) to 80,000 miles (EaBP110), or up to 1,200 hours and 2 years, whichever comes first. For diesel truck owners running AMSOIL synthetic motor oil with oil analysis programs, this system is a practical path to maximizing drain intervals while keeping wear metals in check.

INCREASED FILTRATION CAPACITY WITH DUAL-ELEMENT DESIGN
Unlike single-element bypass setups, the DUAL-GARD mount accepts two spin-on bypass filter elements simultaneously. This doubles the filtration capacity and dirt-holding volume compared to a single-filter bypass system. For engines with larger oil capacities, from 15 quarts up to 42 quarts, this additional capacity is meaningful. The system also adds approximately 2 quarts of oil to total system volume, which helps with heat dissipation on hard-working engines.

FLEXIBLE ELEMENT SIZING FOR YOUR APPLICATION
AMSOIL offers three Ea Bypass Filter element sizes to match your engine's oil capacity. Engines holding 15 to 18 quarts pair well with two EaBP90 elements. Oil systems in the 15 to 30 quart range are best served by two EaBP100 elements. Larger systems up to 42 quarts should use two EaBP110 elements. Selecting a larger element than recommended extends the service interval, while a smaller element shortens it. The EaBP120 is not compatible with this system.

STRAIGHTFORWARD INSTALLATION ON MOST ENGINES
The system connects to the engine through a pressurized oil port, typically the oil pressure sending unit location, and returns oil through an existing crankcase or oil pan port. The kit includes the dual-element filter mount, mounting brackets, 15 feet of 1/4-inch hose, JIC hose fittings, and all necessary mounting hardware. Optional fittings for alternative return line routing, including a self-tapping hollow bolt (BP40) for stamped oil pans and a filler cap return fitting (BP89), are available separately. Filter elements are also sold separately.

COMPATIBILITY AND APPLICATIONS
The BMK22 system is compatible with a wide range of gasoline and diesel engines used in pickup trucks, medium-duty trucks, heavy-duty on-road and off-road equipment, agricultural machinery, and commercial fleet vehicles. It is commonly installed on Ford 6.7L and 7.3L Power Stroke diesels, GM Duramax platforms, Ram Cummins trucks, commercial mowing equipment, and stationary power units. The mount accepts any AMSOIL Ea Bypass spin-on filter element except the EaBP110's larger cousin, the EaBP120.

FILTER SERVICE INTERVALS

Do not exceed the listed interval for whichever limit is reached first. Periodic inspection of hoses and fittings is recommended at least annually, checking for leaks, hose deterioration, and physical damage.
