Most diesel fuel sold in North America has a cetane value between 40 and 45. Diesel engines perform best on fuel with cetane values of 50 or higher. That gap between what you're pumping and what your engine actually needs shows up as rough idle, hard starts in cold weather, sluggish throttle response, and higher exhaust emissions. Pump fuel alone often leaves performance on the table, especially in newer high-pressure common-rail engines found in the Ram Cummins, Duramax, and Power Stroke platforms.

INCREASES CETANE UP TO 8 POINTS
Cetane number is to diesel what octane is to gasoline. It measures ignition quality. Higher cetane means shorter ignition delay, which translates to a more complete burn in the combustion chamber. AMSOIL Diesel Cetane Boost uses a concentrated formula with unique chemistry to raise cetane up to eight points, pushing typical 40-45 cetane pump fuel into the 48-53 range where diesel engines run the way they were designed to. One ounce treats up to 10 gallons of fuel for an 8-point increase, or the same ounce treats up to 10 gallons for a 4-point bump at half the dose.

By improving the ignition quality of the fuel itself, Diesel Cetane Boost reduces ignition delay in cold conditions, helping engines like the 6.6L Duramax, 6.7L Cummins, and 6.7L Power Stroke light off cleanly and settle into a smooth idle faster.

REDUCES SMOKE AND EMISSIONS
Incomplete combustion produces visible smoke and elevated particulate emissions. More complete fuel burn means less soot loading on diesel particulate filters (DPFs), which can reduce the frequency of DPF regeneration cycles. Less soot generation also means less contamination of your engine oil, which contributes to longer oil life and reduced wear. The formula is compatible with all exhaust emission systems, including DPFs and selective catalytic reduction (SCR) systems.

DOSAGE GUIDE
For a 4-point cetane increase, use 1 oz. per 10 gallons of fuel. For a full 8-point cetane increase, use 2 oz. per 10 gallons. Best performance is achieved when used with every tank of fuel.
