AMSOIL SIROCCO® ISO-32/46 COMPRESSOR OIL

AMSOIL SIROCCO ISO-32/46 Synthetic Compressor Oil is a premium ester-based lubricant built to protect rotary screw compressors and vacuum pumps while dramatically extending drain intervals beyond what mineral-based oils can deliver. It covers both ISO 32 and ISO 46 viscosity grades in a single fluid, simplifying inventory and reducing the chance of using the wrong product.

Rotary screw compressors operate under relentless thermal stress, often running continuously in humid environments where water ingestion is unavoidable. Mineral oils break down under these conditions, forming sludge, varnish and carbon deposits that choke separators and filters, drive up energy consumption and shorten equipment life. Polyalkylene glycol (PAG) fluids handle the heat better but come at a higher price and hold water throughout their service life, making moisture management difficult.

REDUCES OPERATING TEMPERATURES AND ENERGY COSTS
Synthetic ester base stocks deliver inherently better lubricity and thermal conductivity than petroleum oils. AMSOIL SIROCCO uses this to its advantage, reducing friction-generated heat inside the compressor and lowering discharge temperatures. Lower operating temperatures translate directly to reduced energy consumption, which adds up fast on equipment running 24/7 in manufacturing and industrial environments.

RESISTS OXIDATION FOR EXTENDED DRAIN INTERVALS UP TO 8,000+ HOURS
Mineral compressor oils typically need changing every 1,000 to 2,000 hours. AMSOIL SIROCCO is engineered for service life up to 8,000 hours, subject to operating conditions, maintenance practices and routine oil analysis every 1,000 hours. The synthetic ester formulation naturally resists oxidation, which means fewer sludge and varnish deposits fouling internal components, separators and filters. That translates to less downtime, fewer filter changes and lower overall maintenance costs across the life of the compressor.

SEPARATES FROM WATER TO PREVENT EMULSION PROBLEMS
This is where SIROCCO offers a real advantage over PAG-based compressor coolants like Sullair Sullube 32 and Ingersoll-Rand SSR Ultra Coolant. PAG fluids absorb water and hold it in solution throughout their service life, which can accelerate corrosion and complicate disposal. AMSOIL SIROCCO readily separates from water, scoring 40/40/0 in 25 minutes on the ASTM D1401 demulsibility test. Free water settles to the bottom of the reservoir where it can be drained during routine shutdowns. Initially, shut the compressor down for 15 minutes every 24 hours to allow water to settle, then extend the interval based on the volume of water removed and your specific environmental conditions.

HIGH-TEMPERATURE FIRE SAFETY AND COLD-WEATHER PERFORMANCE
AMSOIL SIROCCO posts a flash point of 252°C (486°F) and a fire point of 280°C (536°F), both significantly higher than typical petroleum compressor oils. While it cannot be considered non-flammable, this margin improves fire safety in high-temperature compressor rooms. On the other end of the spectrum, a pour point of -43°C (-45°F) and the absence of paraffin wax make SIROCCO an excellent all-season compressor lubricant. Cold starts are easier, and the oil reaches critical components faster, reducing wear during startup in unheated facilities or outdoor installations.

DIRECT REPLACEMENT FOR PAG COMPRESSOR COOLANTS
AMSOIL SIROCCO is compatible with and recommended as a direct replacement for polyalkylene glycol compressor oils, including Sullair Sullube 32 and Ingersoll-Rand SSR Ultra Coolant. No flushing is necessary when converting from glycol coolants. Drain the old fluid, change the filters and install SIROCCO. Because the synthetic ester formulation has a high level of solvency, it may loosen deposits left behind by previous fluids. Check filters and oil/air separators regularly during the first 500 hours of operation and replace as necessary.

SPECIFICATIONS AND COMPATIBILITY
AMSOIL SIROCCO meets ISO viscosity grade 32/46 per ASTM D2422, making it suitable for applications calling for either an ISO 32 or ISO 46 compressor oil. It is compatible with petroleum oils, most synthetic oils, and a wide range of compressor gases including nitrogen, hydrogen, helium, carbon monoxide, dry carbon dioxide, ethylene, methane, propane, butane, natural gas, benzene, butadiene, furnace gas, dry hydrogen sulfide, synthetic gas and sulfur dioxide.

Compatible seals include Viton, high-nitrile Buna-N (greater than 36%) and Teflon. Compatible paints include epoxy, oil-resistant alkyd and two-part urethane. Compatible plastics include nylon, Delrin, Celcon and PBT.

SIROCCO is not recommended as a replacement for or for use with Sullair Sullube 24 KT silicone-based compressor oil. It is also not recommended for use in breathing air or refrigeration compressors.

SERVICE LIFE
AMSOIL SIROCCO is recommended for use up to 8,000+ hours in most rotary screw compressor applications. Service life depends on operating conditions and maintenance practices. Oil analysis monitoring every 1,000 hours is recommended to verify fluid condition and optimize drain intervals for your specific operation.
